Inside Model Careers

Things you need to know, but nobody tells you

Best & Worst Things About This Career

Model: "The best thing about my career is that I am being paid to have fun! I spend my shifts surrounded by upbeat, positive people so it's hard to leave a shift in a bad mood. It's not all fun and games, though. Sometimes it's tough because the company dictates everything about my appearance - from the styling of your clothes to how I am wearing my hair. Sometimes I feel like I am loosing my sense of identity. It's important to remember that I am there to showcase someone else's product, not myself." (2011)

Career Tips

"Tips For Landing Jobs...
1. Practice your social skills! You need to be able to hold a conversation with anyone and everyone. 2. When responding to a casting call, less is more. The person who is doing the hiring wants to know how you look without any of makeup. 3. Always have a headshot ready because you never know who you are going to meet on any given day." (Model; 2011)
