My Education: BS in Biology
My Prior Experience: I didn't have any previous experience when I applied for this job, but I have extensive knowledge in the use of computers.
My Company: I work for a bank in Chicago.
Job/Career Overview: My primary job is to respond to inquiries and requests regarding user based computer problems. These problems are usually password resets or troubleshooting issues with printers. A very important piece of this is assisting new employees with setting up their personal accounts (Usernames, Passwords, Programs and Preferences).
I also make sure that new employees understand our procedures when it comes to computer security and safety. The bank's number one objective is to keep customers' information safe, and the best way to do this is by protecting the the information that we store on our network. Careless use of our programs can lead to a breach in our security.
The second part of my job involves maintaining and cataloging any of the banks electronics. We are constantly getting new products and replacing old ones. It is important that we keep an accurate count of what we have on hand and what we may need in the future.

I rate this career 8 out of 10.
The best part of my job is that I interact with a lot of interesting people on a day to day basis. Our company employs a variety of different people from different backgrounds and a day doesn't go by that I don't interact with a new person.
I love that I get to work with computers as that is my passion. This job gives me the freedom to use my mind and knowledge to keep our customers information safe.
Make sure that you truly enjoy working with computers. A lot of people think they want to work with computers, but quickly realize they don't enjoy it.
The job isn't always the most exiting thing in the world and there is a lot of downtime. There are also times when you have to work long stressful hours to make sure our system stays up and running. This isn't a 9 to 5 job. I am on call at all hours of the day.
