"Online Schooling, More Self-Help Than Learning...
The thing that I was most surprised about was the almost lack of interaction between the teachers and the student. I was always a great student and had no problem learning by watching the teacher and listening to the teacher. With the University of Phoenix, everything that I had to learn was from reading. The teacher provided some feedback when it came to discussions but there was no actual learning from the teacher themselves. I was happy that schooling was flexible enough to work around my work schedule. This became a little difficult when every class required you to work in a group during a portion of the class. I did not like that my academic future was partially in the hands of people who I had never met before and had no way of actually interacting with them other than in the online classroom." "Time Management...
Create a schedule and stick to it. It is easy to procrastinate when there is not a professor in front of you. Understand that in your home there are constant distractions so your schedule should work around kids and dinner and the time you know your mother calls each week. Find small 30-45 minute sections of time that you are pretty sure can be dedicated 100% to school. Have 2 - 3 of these sessions each day and everything will get done." (EDUCATION; 2014)

It is so important to really take a look at your syllabus and to keep on top of emailing any questions you have about due dates. If you miss one thing in the curriculum, it will be very hard to not only catch up, but to understand the next chapter, and so on. Also, it will screw you up on the final exam. If you are not sure when a certain paper/project is due, do not hesitate to email your teacher, and keep in mind that it usually takes them a day or two to respond." Don't wait until the last day of the week to check in on the course." (Matriculated to four year college for BA in Economics; 2014)
